strelitzia augusta 90cm
Strelitzias are reminiscent of banana trees because of their large leaves, which are defoliated in the air or by rubbing. This Bird of paradise plant is the Strelitzia Augusta. In recent times, big strelitzias have moved from our gardens and patios of the maritime Mediterranean climate regions to the living room as the most spectacular houseplants.

care tips
The Strelitzias are plants that need a lot of light, they can even be put in full sun if they are introduced little by little to it. During the winter, place them in the sunniest window with artificial light as a supplement.
When it grows outdoors it needs to be in areas where the temperature does not fall below 5ºC. For the temperature to flourish it must be above 12ºC. Once they are settled, they can survive with a shortage of water, especially during the winter, although in summer it will be necessary to provide them with water regularly and in depth. We recommend to remove the yellowish or brown leaves and cut the flower when it's passed.
