The Chamaerops humilis (Mediterranean fan palm and in Spanish palmito) is the only spontaneous palm tree on the Iberian Peninsula. It is one of the palms that can be easily found on the hills, ravines and mountains of the Spanish Mediterranean coast and in both public and private gardens.
