Ficus Benghalensis Sunshine

The Bengal Fig Tree or 'Sunshine' Ficus is an absolutely spectacular variety that grows in the wild mainly in India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. This ficus has an upright, erect habit with a single main stem, which is covered with oval leaves with a slightly rough, wavy surface and an energising neon green colour. The younger leaves are brighter, celadon-lime in colour, the older leaves darken with age and develop a subtle but sparkling pattern of fine light green pollen.

care tips

The Ficus Benghalensis loves high humidity, so frequent spraying with soft, lukewarm water is advised. Water the plant only when the top layer of soil is dry. It is important that water does not accumulate excessively in the substrate. Ficus prefers a fairly fertile and permeable soil. Young plants should be repotted in spring each year and in the case of older specimens it is sufficient to replace the top layer of the substrate. For ideal growth, choose a bright or slightly shaded spot.
