lime tree
The Citrus latifolia, commonly known as lime tree, is an evergreen fruit tree belonging to the Rutaceae family. Although its cultivation did not develop in the West until much later, it was introduced to the Mediterranean region following the Arab conquest of Spain, quickly spreading along the entire Mediterranean coast. Thanks to its mild and favourable climate, this tree is successfully cultivated for both domestic consumption and export. Its fruit, known for its juiciness and tart flavour, is an excellent source of vitamin C, helping to strengthen the immune system and promote good health.

For outdoor lime trees in Spain, ensure they are planted in a sunny, well-drained location to promote healthy growth. Water regularly during dry periods, but avoid waterlogging to prevent root rot. Protect the tree from strong winds and frost in winter to maintain its vitality and productivity.
