how to care for your plant terrarium
To help the plants in your Emma terrarium thrive, place it in a bright spot with indirect natural light. Avoid strong, direct sunlight, which can cause the temperature inside the glass to rise too high and damage the leaves. Good lighting helps the plants photosynthesise and supports healthy growth.
Keep the temperature fairly stable and avoid placing the terrarium next to radiators, other heat sources or anywhere subject to sudden temperature changes. Check the plants and the moisture levels inside the container regularly to maintain the right balance.
Once you have assembled your terrarium with moss, Fittonias and Ficus ginseng bonsai, add water sparingly, taking care not to waterlog the growing medium. In a closed container, moisture can condense on the glass and return to the soil, so it is important not to overwater. Use soft, preferably filtered, water and check the moisture level before watering again.
How often you need to water depends on the container's ventilation, light, temperature and internal humidity. Rather than following a fixed schedule, observe the growing medium, moss and condensation on the glass to determine when water is needed. If heavy condensation persists for a long time or the growing medium remains waterlogged, check the ventilation and reduce watering.
